The Mastery School of Hawken provides an alternative model that considers the profound changes in our current society. The Mastery School uses a methodology that helps students develop the deep and enduring skills needed for success in today¡¯s world: critical thinking, creative problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and citizenship. And in doing so, we keep students engaged in work that matters to them and to the world around them. Students don't just sit in a classroom but are tasked to work with real-world partners to solve meaningful real and authentic problems. Some community partners have been NASA, the Cleveland Clinic, Case Western Reserve University, the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, Bialosky Cleveland, Great Lakes Biomimicry, and many more! Research shows that these skills and experiences better prepare students for college and after college.
